Pricing Cut Flowers: What Does Your Price Actually Say?

I recently placed our fall bulb and corm order for our flower farm. I was looking to try a few new varieties of ranunculus and discovered Cloni ranunculus. When I saw the price of just one corm, my first reaction was…

They must be the most gorgeous ranunculus!

Dang, I need to see what these ranunculus are all about!

Essentially, Cloni ranunculus must be spectacular. To command that high of a price, they gotta be good. I want to see what the hype is all about. I’ll take some!

Cloni Ranunculus

By simply seeing the price, I wanted some. The price alone generated demand. Why?

Pricing IS marketing.

The price alone speaks to the quality and value of the product. It's market positioning. (Think K-Mart compared to Target compared to Nordstrom.) It attracts a specific market while repelling another. Pricing is so much more than simply charging the same as the farm down the road.

Don't just price your products to blend in with everyone else. Use pricing to say something about your product and your brand.

Come to find out, Cloni ranunculus are propagated in a laboratory resulting in a much healthier plant without virus or diseases. Fascinating, right? If you want to see what the fuss is all about, we have a handful left in our fall bulb and corm sale here.
